My name is Darby Scalf and this ministry is about using the visual arts in conjunction with scripture to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Simply put, I strive to illustrate God's word through dramatic art presentations. I am a full time Art teacher at Lewis Cass Junior and Senior High school, a public school in central Indiana. This all began when my pastor, Rev. Paul Boss, asked me to throw on the potters wheel while he was to preach on God being the Master Potter. From that first presentation at Greentown Wesleyan Church, God has opened and closed doors in amazing ways and always in His right timing. Since then I have had the opportunity to share and or present numerous times to a wide variety of churches and civic groups. Somehow, I have even had the honor to be asked back to several churches and groups. This is a simple teaching ministry that uses the visual arts to bless and encourage others. I strive to make sure that this ministry does not take away from local church tithes and offerings, hence I simply ask for $75 to $100+ depnding on church size plus a freewill offering. I also ask that the freewill offering be seperated from the service. In other words, no passing of a plate. A small consideration for travel, expenses and time would be greatly appreciated for anything not local. I feel strongly that you support your local church first, through your tithes and offerings, as God has instructed.
This ministry is non-denominational and open to any church or para-church organization that is Biblically based. I am excited how different denominations are coming together to share the love of Christ. Even with different worship styles and looks we can still glorify God. I understand that there might be more differences than in worship style; and if you have any concerns about me speaking at your church please feel free to contact me. I Believe in Jesus Christ, in the truth and accuracy of scripture and how great our God is. I feel strongly in the Word of God (the Bible), His Power and His Authority. He is the Master Artist.
CIVIC PRESENTATIONS I also am available to various civic groups and organizations as well. I have spoken to Art Associations (adult and youth), scouts, and senior citizens groups. My civic presentations can be adjusted to suit your needs, I just ask for a small opportunity to share about Jesus.
